MONDAY ART CLUB: up to yr 6
Autumn term 1
Monday afternoons: 4pm-5pm
7th, 14th, 21st & 28th Sept, 5th & 12th Oct

MONDAY ART CLUB is a relaxed term time art club where children can meet together in my studio in a creative space to make art whilst chatting with friends, and making use of the studio space and materials.

Each half term will have a special artist focus. The studio will be full of examples of the artist’s work, and there will be a focus on the style and techniques associated with them. The idea is that the children be exposed to a variety of different artists and illustrators, and are given the chance to explore a range of relevant materials at their own pace during the 6 weeks. The artists featured will not always be well known, in fact I aim to specifically include some of my favourite, interesting and lesser known artists and their work. As a collage artist with a background and education in a variety of creative subjects from fine art, animation, theatre puppetry to graphic design, the children can expect the unexpected!

As always I will support a freestyle approach, so that there is freedom to create in their own way and follow their own curiosity, with my support and guidance. I am excited to announce that the first artist focus will be one of my favourite British illustrators, the iconic Brian Wildsmith (1930-2016). His art is colourful and expressive; a playful mixed media approach including paints, oil pastels and pencil. More information about his work can be found at https://www.brianwildsmith.com/

Small groups of maximum 7 always.
